In business, particularly a home-based business, leadership is important to success. For the most part, entrepreneurs understand the value of being self-sufficient and innovative. And to that end, ingraining Leadership into your daily method of operation is a 3-step process.
Well, kind of. At least when it comes to moving forward with a goal or idea.
You see, there are really two types of people in the world: Leaders and followers. Or winners and losers; haves and have-nots…whatever you want to call them.
Here is how the Leaders/winners operate.
1. Plan: plan out your daily/weekly/monthly and even annual goals, strategies and action items. Be specific and brief. Have just a few items to complete your big goals. These are action items that are designed specifically to get you to the big goals you are striving for right now. Spend less time on planning and more time on executing. The most successful people in the home-based business industry are the ones who actively plan for success.
2. Execute: This is the meat-and-potatoes of every Leader’s pursuit of success. Taking action should be the primary focus of your day/week/month and year. Executing your plan is where the fun is. Proceed confidently and enthusiastically and see your plan through to completion. Entrepreneurs are hungry for the execution phase, and love the challenge of setting the plan into action.
3. Respond: Rarely do things go the way we plan them, no matter how much time and care are put into the planning phase. This is why I told you to keep the planning brief and to-the-point. Execute the plan and respond to the obstacles that come along, rather reacting to a setback. Nearly every successful business has been based on adjusting and responding to adversity. Adversity is the mother of innovation.
The difference is that a reaction is emotion based; response is logic-based and fueled by optimistic thinking and a mind conditioned to recognize opportunity. Leaders actually view obstacle as hidden opportunities, and setbacks are simply new challenges which also carry with them new opportunities.
Learn to manage your emotions and you will learn to respond and overcome any obstacle that is presented.
The bottom line is this: if you are a Leader—a winner—and are striving for a big goal or endeavor, your first line of thinking should be on opportunity.
If you are someone who loves the thrill of rising to a challenge, you are bound for success. If you are a person who thrives under pressure, you are headed for victory. If your mind is constantly running and thinking of ways to improve, succeed, prosper, then setbacks and obstacles are nothing more than opportunities waiting to happen.
Thanks to all the successful entrepreneurs who have paved the way and shared the bread crumbs of success.
Propagate the winning mindset you desire by following and implementing the strategies of the leaders who take the time to share. By doing that, you are changing the world and promoting the concept of success as an obvious and attainable aspect of life.
Keep kicking ass!
