I demonstrated the importance of owning your dreams, and how through ownership, you will remain steadfast in the pursuit of those dreams. Today I want to share more of Maxwell’s insight by discussing the importance of clarity in your dreams.

Specifically, I want you to understand why clarity of a dream is so vital in attaining all your dreams and goals.

Have you ever been lost, and asked for directions, only to get very vague instructions on how to get to your destination? “Take a left at the corner, drive past the building that looks like a school and go right. Drive for about a mile and you’ll see it in front of you…” Sound familiar?

Sadly, it is with this same level of generality that lots of entrepreneurs pursue their dreams. Why? Often times it is because their dreams are too vague! Whether you are growing a home based business or following a life-long passion, crystal clarity is required to attain any goal in life.

Start by defining exactly what you want to accomplish. Want more money? Set an actual amount for your bank account or net worth. Want more time freedom? Define your ideal work schedule in terms of days of the week and hours per day you want to work. Want to have the ideal body? Write down your ideal weight, body composition and even clothing size.

Now comes the fun part! With the specific goal brought into crystal clarity, begin tracing a path backward from the dream to where you are right now. What will your life look like just before you attain the goal? What about just before then, and before then, and before then…and so on? Systematically walk yourself backward through the attainment process until you have a clear path between where you are and where you want to be.

As you formulate this “dream map” you will find that your dreams and goals are not as far off as you once imagined. Whether in your life or in your home based business, get clear on you dreams, and get going toward pursuing them! You are already surrounded by all the resources you need, so start looking for evidence of them in your life right now.
